8 Reasons Patients Visit Us for Urgent Care

As a provider of urgent care, we treat patients who need immediate medical services. Families visit us from throughout the area when they're sick, injured or worried about their health.

Why patients visit us for urgent care

Some of the most common reasons patients visit our urgent care office are:

1. Flu symptoms

The flu can be physically devastating. Anyone who is suffered from the flu understands how horribly uncomfortable it can be. Patients who visit us right away after exhibiting flu-like symptoms may receive medication. If they test positive for the flu, we can prescribe medication that will shorten the duration of their symptoms so patients can get back to life like normal.

2. Strep throat

Anyone with a sore throat who also has a fever, feels weak or generally unwell may be suffering from strep. Strep throat is a common condition that we can treat with antibiotics. Getting on antibiotics quickly is the best way to expedite recovery.

3. Mono

Patients who feel that they have cold-like symptoms for a long time may have mono. Usually, this is also accompanied by periods of intense fatigue. This condition is most common amongst high school and college students, but we recommend anyone who has been unwell for long periods of time to visit us for an exam.

4. STIs

Someone who is concerned that they may have an STI should visit us for urgent care. We can conduct an examination, run the appropriate tests and make the diagnosis. This is important for treatment and for preventing the infection from spreading further.

5. Ear infections

Ear infections are most common in young children and can be incredibly painful. They typically have other symptoms accompanying the ear pain, such as fever and runny nose. If the pediatrician cannot see your child fast enough, it is best to visit us for urgent care, so they can begin recovering.

6. General feelings of being unwell

Sometimes patients visit our office because they are feeling unwell, are not sure why and are looking for help recovering. When they do not have time to schedule a doctor appointment far in advance, visiting our office can be far more convenient.

7. Sprains and strains

We treat patients who have suffered a muscle sprain or strain when doing something like playing intramural sports.
